Student Training in Czechia (GOODWILL)
In the autumn of 2024 we started training
students to promote innovative approaches in teaching. As we have students in
Tourism and Foreign Trade, we sought to diversify the events to benefit both of
these groups. The programme was prepared by lecturers in collaboration with
professionals from companies. Students learned new approaches to education and
acquired new didactic methods. A practical outcome was the validation of the
acquired skills in the implementation of a workshop for the students of the
Senior Academy at the Goodwill College of Higher Education.
The preparation started with visits to the
exhibition of sculptor David Moješčík (figurative work with smooth lines of the
human body) at the castle in Frýdek-Místek and also to the Chagall Art Centre
in Ostrava. Students not only got acquainted with the artworks, but also
learned about the methods of didactics of gallery pedagogy, especially with a
focus on animation actions. The program was conducted under the guidance of the
gallery owner Mr. Petr Pavliňák.
Under the guidance of the History of Art
teacher, they verified their knowledge in the school gallery. The students
practiced how to conduct an animation program in the gallery.
Since the training was to culminate in the
organization of the event, we invited Ms. Radka Kulichová, who is involved in
the organization of the International Folklore Festival in Frýdek-Místek. Ms.
Kulichová discussed with the students the organization of the cultural event
point by point.
In cooperation with Lenzing Business Services
s.r.o., two workshops were organized for our students - Project Management
under the leadership of Martin Koval and Kaizen training under the leadership
of IT team leader Nuno Bonito. Both events promoted creativity and innovative
approaches in education. Students learned to recognize the difference between
waterfall and agile project management methods through teamwork using LEGO
building blocks and other tools. Teamwork was also central to understanding the
Kaizen process.
The practical output was the implementation of a workshop for
students of the Senior Academy. The preparation of the event was led by the
teachers of the Goodwill College, the actual implementation was directed by the
students, who verified in practice what they learned during the winter teaching
period, especially in the field of innovative approach in education.
